Julia as a young woman.
 Born in 1868, Julia D. Owen of Navasota was an accomplished musician, songwriter and singer.  She had a twin sister named Jessica who also wrote and arranged music. Her claim to fame was "The Texas Bluebonnet Song," published in 1922. Julia lived all of her life in Navasota, a spinster, and was buried in Oakland Cemetery in 1964 at 96 years of age.
